Watts of Love intentionally seeks out the most vulnerable people in the developing world, who live without access to electrical light.
Our mission is sustainable because we partner with in-country organizations and invest in local leaders to represent Watts of Love.
Our proven Process
Our goal is to EQUIP, TRAIN, and EMPOWER each community we serve.
STEP 1:
Equip
Watts of Love equips each household, within a region, with solar light. This tool can be used to reduce harm and bring economic prosperity to themselves their community.
We give individuals education materials they can bring home with them to remember what Watts of Love has taught them and continue to work towards economic success.
STEP 2:
Train
Using a unique financial literacy curriculum, the Watts of Love team gently and compassionately instructs these future entrepreneurs how to save, invest, and build for the future. We train entire communities on how to properly use the solar light and provides education on the importance of compound savings.
We emphasize the significance of redirecting funds previously used to purchase kerosene or other dangerous light sources and invest their savings in livestock. We have found, investing in animals is a sustainable investment that multiplies itself.
STEP 3:
Empower
Watts of Love empowers individuals to identify their dreams and set goals for their future. We want each recipient to have a choice in how they redirect their savings. A solar light enables people to invest in their families, start a path to economic prosperity, break old perceptions of what is possible, and see the potential for a new life.
Our previous light recipients report, having a solar light gave them feelings of dignity, freedom, and self-worth.
