Nancy Economou
FOUNDER & CEO

Nancy established the organization in 2012 after a trip to the Philippines. During her visit, she witnessed the urgent need for safe and sustainable lighting, especially for vulnerable families.
Nancy, a mother of five boys, was motivated to empower these families and break the cycle of poverty. Her dedication is to provide light and compassion to the most underprivileged communities globally.
Before founding Watts of Love, Nancy worked at Cartier Jewelers in Chicago, specializing in high-end jewelry. She is a passionate advocate for uplifting families from poverty on a global scale.
KEVIN KUSTER
FOUNDING MEMBER & BOARD MEMBER

Kevin is a seasoned professional in photography and directing. He has over two decades of experience in creating and editing imaginative content for numerous prestigious clients.
Additionally, Kevin oversees the largest photography community on Instagram, with 543,000 followers. Before joining Watts of Love, he held the role of Director of Content and Senior Photo Editor at a prominent national magazine.
MARY KAY KAUFMANN

Mary Kay is a retired executive with 34 years at Nalco, an Ecolab Company, where she held roles such as Chief Marketing Officer and Division President of the Water Business. Now a part-time consultant, she also serves on several for-profit boards.
She has been active in nonprofit work, including serving on the board of Water for People for nine years, including as Chair, and on the board of Naperville United Way. Mary Kay also contributed to the US Department of Commerce's ETTAC committee on fair trade and volunteers in her local community.

Terry, cofounder and partner of Capra Consulting in Chicago, is an IT and business process expert. He began at Amoco/BP, which later outsourced IT to his firm. He is recently retired and holds a BS in computer science and math from Loyola University Chicago and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Dale is Senior Vice President at Citi, focusing on financial solutions for SMEs and middle market clients. With 30+ years in banking, he led Citi’s Midwest Emerging Corporates team and PNC’s Franchise Banking. He also serves on nonprofit boards like the DuPage Children’s Museum.

Candice has 15+ years in global NGO management, grant writing, and crisis relief. She founded an Iris Global base in Micronesia and led a 501(c)(3) prison ministry supporting vulnerable women.
With a Ministry and Counseling degree, she helps sex trafficking victims and women in need.

Scott, partner at Shepherd Mullins in Orange County, CA, specializes in real estate, energy, land use, and environmental law. A longtime Watts of Love supporter, he has provided pro bono legal help on bylaws, IP with Molex, and employment issues. He’s served on boards of Christian nonprofits and real estate groups. Married to Doreen for 32 years with 4 children.

Doug, a founding partner of Wells Roselieb & Raia Wealth Management, has 30+ years in retirement, investment, and financial planning. He mainly serves retirees and advises pensions, charities, and trusts. Born and raised in Downers Grove, Doug lives there with his wife, Cindi, and their four children, where he is actively engaged in the community.

Brian, with 25 years in fundraising, marketing, and FinTech, is Entrepreneur in Residence at Catholic University’s Bush School. He founded Faith Direct, a top eGiving platform, and TipYo, a tipping app. He serves on the university board and volunteers for Prison Ministry.

Mike co-founded Axios, covering politics, business, media, and tech, and was Politico's chief political reporter. He writes Axios AM and PM newsletters and authored Smart Brevity: Saying More with Less. Mike has supported Watts for years.

Dr. Maria, a semi-retired veterinarian and ex-small animal practice owner, co-founded the Down Syndrome Association of South Texas. With more than 25 years of nonprofit experience, she has traveled globally with Watts of Love, contributing as a photographer and fundraiser, while continuing her work in veterinary services.

Matt is an Audit Managing Director at Deloitte with 25+ years of experience serving top domestic and international clients. He spent five years improving audit quality in Deloitte’s National Office and has been involved in the community as Chairman of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley.
